When harsh, bitter winds begin to bite, & the never-ending nights stretch to their darkest – broken only by the faint glimmer of ice – one yearns for the simple comfort of a seat beside the hearth. Thus Head Distiller Ned has conjured up a midwinter mood-lifter: a soulful, comforting assemblage composed to evoke the warmth & intimacy that can only be found when warming one's tired bones in front of a crackling fire.
Head Distiller's Observations
Appearance: Sunkissed orange with legs and oils that remind me of rain on a window pane of a winters day.
Nose: Apricot, sultanas, maple syrup on pancakes, candied apples, sage and thyme, mince pie, digestive biscuits and butter, warm hay, dried flowers.
Taste: White pepper, spicy, grapefruit, sweet and sour, chilly flakes, root vegetables, chewable, dryness, orange zest, coco, slightly malt vinegar & salt, cough sweets.
Finish: A spice heat that dry’s in the middle then is mouth-watering and chewy.
